Project ideas:
* Global warming is not warming everywhere (for who knows the right software)

* Look into one specific example of abrupt climate change

* What's the arguments behind significant loss of biodiversity

* Using atmo/ocean/bio data to compute how much (renewable) energy is in:
  solar
  wind                      surface vs. jetstream
  ocean currents
  plants

 and compare with world energy consumption;   what fraction can be used economically (more difficult)

*Geoengineering
Albedo:  stratosphere, space
Carbon sequestration: industrial, ecosystem
NAS report 1992: read online at http://www.nap.edu/books/0309043867/html/433.html
Keith, D., 2000, a review of the concept and methods of geoengineering.  pdf availalbe  from instructor

* Alternative energy sources
look into one in greater detail:
solar, wind, ocean waves/currents, geothermal, biofuel (ethanol etc.)
