Summer 2001 Aircraft Research Update for: June 18

Conditions look good for an event of moderate length this week over the mid-Atlantic with the worst air quality most likely over central Virginia mid-week. Therefore, we are planning a multi-day deployment of the aircraft to Richmond, Virginia (RIC). Objectives of the series of flights are identical to those listed in the June 10 update.

We will ferry to RIC early morning on Tuesday June 19, conduct flight operations upwind (AM plan) and downwind (PM plan) of the Richmond urban area. While at RIC we will stage out of Richmond Jet Center (804-226-7200 and ask for "N500Z Crew") in the General Aviation facility at RIC airport; crew hotel is the Wyndham Richmond Airport (804-226-4300). Flight plans will emulate those reported as RF-11 through RF-13 in the 2001 research flight summary.

Check back at the end of the week for preliminary flight summaries.
