Desiccation in the Classroom

How the Messinian Salinity Crisis relates to different subjects:

• Geology: Trying to figure out what exactly happened.


• Meteorology: Trying to figure out what effects the climate had on the MSC and what effects the MSC had on the climate.

It is the only known desiccation event that we know of to have such a high magnitude and to have happened on that short of a timescale.
